Cost Codes is the company’s master chart of accounts for construction cost — organized into divisions, codes, and cost types. Every project inherits this structure, which is what makes cost reporting comparable across jobs.
Maintain cost codes
1
Open Cost Codes
From the company hub, go to Administration → Cost Codes.
2
Organize divisions and codes
Maintain divisions and the codes within them. You can start from the Syntecton standard set.
3
Define cost types
Set the cost types (e.g. labor, material, equipment, subcontract) used for breakdowns.
Troubleshooting
A project needs a one-off code
Add it as a project override in that project’s Cost Code Definition rather than here.
