The preconstruction Project Budget assigns dollar amounts to the cost codes you defined. It establishes the target budget before construction — and carries forward to become the live budget in Financial Control once the project is awarded.
Build the preconstruction budget
1
Open Project Budget
Go to Preconstruction → Project Budget.
2
Enter amounts by cost code
Assign a budget value to each cost code, drawing on estimates and bid results.
3
Review and hand off
Review the total against the contract value, then carry the budget forward at award.
Troubleshooting
A cost code is missing
Add it in Cost Code Definition first, then return here to budget it.
